Coping and Stress Management Assessment Profile

The Coping and Stress Profile is a self assessment that provides feedback on an individual's level of stress and coping skills in four key areas of life.  The assessment uses an engaging learning process of self discovery that helps people explore:

  • The level of satisfaction and the stressors in their personal and work life
  • Coping skills and resources they use to manage and decrease stress 
  • A realistic action plan to reduce stress and increase satisfaction 

The Coping and Stress Profile helps people understand how developing and using a variety of coping skills will enable them to cope more effectively with stress and increase their level of satisfaction.

The Coping and Stress Profile can be used as a standalone assessment, integrated into an existing wellness training, or used as part of the training that is included with the Facilitator's Kit.

(Paper)

The Coping & Stress Profile (paper) is a hand-scored, 32-page assessment and action planning guide that provides feedback on an individual's level of stress and coping skills across four key areas of life: Personal, Work, Couple, and Family. 

The Coping Skills assessed with this instrument include:

  1. Problem-Solving -- the ability to address difficult situations directly and make positive changes.  It builds upon creative skills, and it results in new solutions to issues.
  2. Communication and Expressive Skills  -- openly sharing thoughts and expressing feelings so others know where you stand
  3. Closeness -- the degree of support we have and the comfort in relying on others for mutual support
  4. Flexibility -- the ability to adapt and change in tough situations.

The extensive action planning model built into the assessment help guide people in setting meaningful goals and realistic strategies for managing stress and increasing their coping skills.

(Online EPIC Version)

The EPIC (online) version of the Coping and Stress Profile provides all of the same elements in the paper version, including the action planning guide for developing goals.  The feedback in the online EPIC version groups the data in two areas of life: personal and professional.  The instrument is scored electronically.

 

Coping and Stress Management Training

The Coping and Stress Facilitator's Kit includes everything you need to conduct a classroom training using the Coping & Stress Profile.  Participants complete either the paper-based or online (EPIC) version of the Coping and Stress Profile in class or as prework.  The training content focuses on developing four key coping skills and helping people develop concrete goals for dealing with the stress in their lives.
